Leading the Way in Ocular Health with Technology

We invest in your ocular health by investing in technology that accurately detects and diagnoses potential ocular issues. Thanks to digital optometric technology, we can get a detailed picture of your eyes and diagnose ocular disease with even the faintest signs.

Technology That Meets Your Needs

Technology plays a crucial role in evolving the quality of eye care. At Lakeland Family Eyecare, we are dedicated to supporting the visual health of you and your family.

Through the integration eye care technology, we can gain comprehensive insights into your eye health and provide personalized recommendations to meet your lifelong vision needs.

Our Diagnostic Technology

Explore some of the diagnostic technology we use to help manage your eye health and vision.

Digital retinal photography is a high-resolution imaging system that takes digital photographs of the inside of your eye, magnified by more than 1000x. Our optometrists can detect early signs of eye conditions or diseases with these images.

Some of the conditions include:

Retinal photography helps us create a detailed record of your eye health, so we can compare your images over time, increasing the chances of detecting subtle changes in your eye health.

Optical coherence tomography is a non-invasive scanner that uses visible light waves to capture high-resolution cross-section images of your retina.

This technology helps us to detect and diagnose numerous eye conditions. Some of these conditions include:

We include this comprehensive testing in comprehensive eye exams for all adults between 19 and 64.

The area that you see without moving your head is known as your visual field. A visual field test assesses your peripheral vision, which gives the optometrist crucial information regarding the visual pathway from your eye to your brain.

During a visual field test, we measure:

  • How far up, down, left, & right the eyes can see without your head moving.
  • The quality & sensitivity of vision in varying parts of your visual field.

Using frequency doubling technology (FDT), we can accurately test your peripheral vision in about a minute to discover any potential defects.

We may also use a machine called the Humphrey Visual Field Analyser, noninvasive technology that tests your visual field with a series of dim flashing lights. The test usually takes 10 minutes or less.

Visual field testing is vitally important for detecting eye diseases and health conditions such as:

Because of its importance, we do a screening visual field test on all of our adult patients as part of your comprehensive eye wellness exam.
