Let Us Help You Find the Right Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are an excellent option if you want more flexibility than glasses can give and something less invasive than laser surgery. Contacts offer many benefits over eyeglasses:
- Contacts provide a more natural field of view because they sit on and move with your eye.
- Contacts won’t fog or get dirty from rain, dust, or mud.
- Contacts are great for those who play sports or participate in other physical activities because they can’t be broken or fall off your face.
However, because contact lenses sit directly on the eyes, they require a specialized eye exam and fitting before use.
First Thing’s First: The Contact Lens Exam
Before prescribing your contact lenses, you will have to undergo a comprehensive eye exam with one of our optometrists.
This exam allows us to confirm your current prescription and note any changes to your ocular health or emergent medical conditions. We will also do specific testing regarding contact lens wear to determine if you are a suitable candidate.
We Aim to Meet Your Unique Contact Lens Needs
We are pleased to offer an expansive selection of contact lens options to our patients, including:
- Soft contacts including DAILIES TOTAL1
- Extended wear contacts
- Monovision lenses
- Bifocal and multifocal lenses
- Toric lenses (for astigmatism)
- Colour lenses
- Rigid gas permeable contact lenses
- Scleral lenses (for dry eye & cornea conditions)
Our selection caters to daily, monthly, and conventional (vial) lens needs.
Finding Your Fit
Once the exam is complete, we’ll move on to measuring your eyes to make sure we find the ideal fit for you.
The shape of your eye (corneal curvature) and your lifestyle both play a significant role in which contact lenses will be right for you. We consider all of these variables alongside your preferences.
Our team will help you determine which lenses will give you the best visual performance and the most comfortable fit.
Contact Lens Trials
Many brands of contact lenses offer trial pairs. We like to be sure that our patients’ contact lenses are comfortable and right for them. After your contact lens assessment and fitting, we will send you home with a pair of trial lenses to see how they perform.
If you’re happy with your trial lenses at your follow up appointment, we will write you a prescription. If they don’t feel quite right, do not worry. We will try again until we find the perfect fit.
